GHP!

Looks like it’s been a long time since I’ve had anything to say. I have been very very busy this year. I’m working with
a new client Coffee Shop of Horrors. That’s the old site. I’m not quite done with
the new one. I have test pages on my site here not all of the links work, and you can’t buy anything yet
. I’m trying to get away from using tables
for layout. If you don’t know what that means, don’t worry, that’s all I’m going to say about it.
I’m also teaching and rehearsing the Gainesville Ballet. I’m still doing the
ScubaDoRag™ site (a major revision is forthcoming) and I’m gigging around all over the place.
The big news is that I’m going to be the dance person at the Georgia Governor’s Honor’s Program in Valdosta, GA this summer.
I’m looking forward to it, and realize that it is going to be very challenging and rewarding. I’ll be adding stuff to my calendar for GHP soon and will hopefully
use this site to post stuff. I’m going to be busy making phone calls to everybody I know to try to get some guest teachers. If you have any interest in this,
please email me: benjie@westafer.com.

All over.

Looking at my server logs, I can see that people from Virginia, California, Massachusettes,
and Missouri have accessed my site. I wonder who those people could be? Well, HELLO everyone!

Jaime

I’m posting the end of the video I edited for the memorial
service for my friend Jaime Burcham who drowned two months ago. It’s pretty big (over 10mb). It is
worth it. Anyone will tell you that it’s impossible to evoke Jaime without laughing.
Still, though it’s been a while, I have unpredictable bouts of sadness. It still seems so
inconcievable; although, I don’t think that word means what I think it does.
Tam’s leaving for Africa for 15 days soon. It’s going to be really weird. Every piece of furniture
in this house was loaded in by Jaime and me. We cleared out all of the stuff from storage in
one (well, almost one), mostly one big trip. Hmmm. I don’t think I’ve spent two full weeks here.

SERBA

I’ve just returned from SERBA. It was a lot of fun. The shows went well. I’m completely tired and behind on
my schoolwork.
I’m eagerly awaiting whatever Apple has in store for us tomorrow. I’m
not sure I’m going to like it. First of all, I don’t have any money.
Secondly, it seems there will be some limits on how one may use the
new service…if that’s what they are going to announce – we all know
that’s what it is.

Old updates

It´s been a while since I´ve updated this site! Should anyone be looking for biographical
information: the Bio page has my picture and info there.
I´m
working on getting some video of my dancing posted, but I have to consider
some legal issues before I can do so. I will also be working on a more
formal resumé in the near future. In the meantime, I have a show
in two weeks and am working on video for a performance in Gainesville,
GA. I’m also getting myself back into fighting shape. It appears that
I will not be hanging up the tights any time soon.

Microsoft picks winner: not Susan :-(

Well, Susan didn’t win. So, no new iMac for me. :-(. I do need a new Mac. Mine’s starting
to show its age: 3 years. Should anyone want to donate to the
Benjamin Westafer Benevolent Society
, please feel free! ;-). I’m
glad that Nutcracker is over. I’m now working on
www.scubadorag.com
. Susan’s added a ton of new fabrics. So, I’m
buy behind the computer all of the time. I’m also playing “Nightfire”,
the new James Bond game. I would argue that the song on the game kicks
the ass of the movie track. I do wish the multiplayer was xbox live
enabled, but you can’t have everything.

I hope that everyone has a Merry Christmas! Or
Happy Whatever! I hope that everyone is happy in general regardless
or your race, creed, ethnic origin, religious affiliation, non-religious
affiliation, sexual orientation, disability, cultural literacy, ad infinitum.
I hope I’m not leaving anyone out.

Gig in Greenville

I’m in Greenville, SC after a mostly successful run of Giselle. I say mostly because of
a most unfortunate incident involving my lack of a Wilfred and the door
on the house stage left. You can only imaging. It’s on tape and as soon
as I get it, I’ll post it here. It’s classic. I’ve got a new cell phone(706-414-4912).
I realized that I haven’t placed it on the "Home" page. I’ll
fix that eventually, but don’t hold your breath. I’m in my 3rd class
with the University of Phoenix. So far
I’ve got an A! Oh yeah, Susan Martin of ScubaDoRag™
fame has been nominated by Microsoft as a semi-finalist in their
Ms.
M.o.X.i.e. contest
. If she wins, I get a new iMac. So VOTE!
VOTE! VOTE!
Remember: SUSAN MARTIN!!! ;-).

One more thing: I plan to add a shameless commerce
section to the site. Though I’m not really an advocate of the MLM (Multi-Level
Marketing = Amway) biz, but I take a product that is only offered that
way. It’s not Amway, but it’s virtually the same thing. You are probably
wondering why I would have any interest in this at all. The simple answer
is that the product: Juice Plus®
really does work. It’s a shame that the only way to get it is through
someone who sells it in the hopes of fabulous riches. I’m not fooled
by the promises of wealth, but I do like the product. If you want it,
I can get it for you. You won’t be making me fabulously well-to-do,
but maybe one day I can have my own Segway
without Tammy divorcing me!

Election in Augusta

Watching the election returns.
I wonder what Rush will have to complain about now?! Yours truly will
be going back to Augusta to vote in the runoff between Bob Young and
Ed McIntyre. Mr. McIntyre has had a checkered past and was in trouble
with the law. He served his time. Everyone says he was set up. I suppose
we all deserve a second chance.
Tam is better and is at work right now. She’s at work right now. Thanks
for all of the kind words. I just found out that I am being used as
NCDT’s example of an
attitude!.image since removed There’s double meaning in that!
