First Week

Well, it turns out the baby loves Bach (played by Glen Gould, of course). We’re into the second part of Book I ofThe
Well Tempered Clavier
. Maybe I can get my butt away from the computer and get some practice in so I can play some tunes for her myself.
In other news, I tried to get Quicktime working using a variation of the
Flash Satay method. I can get away with the Flash Satay method for Flash, but there
are weaknesses in the Quicktime method. The movies on this page load another movie in place of the one you see first. Once that movie loads and plays
through it loads the original movie and completes the loop. This is impossible with the Quicktime Satay method. One may extend the
xhtml dtd
; but, that seems like a lot of trouble. I just found another page with great links I’m about to explore; maybe I’ll find the answer there.

GBC Nutcracker Program Finished!

Whew! So, I’m catching up. I’ve finally finished major work on the GBC Program. Though it
was killing me, I am happy that I’ve learned a lot more about Quark. It’s clunky and has
some really odd font behavior; still, I think I’ll add it to the list of software I like.
I realize I’ve been almost completely incommunicado lately, I will be able to be more
responsive until the baby’s arrival or The Nutcracker whichever comes first.

Heavy production week.

Things are pretty hectic around here. I’m in the middle of working on music and the program for The Nutcracker.
Susan’s got two new products, one of which is becoming my nemesis. The Coffee Shop is getting more and more orders while
Braxton and Hicks are keeping Tammy occupied. She is very ready for the baby!
I mention this because I’m starting to get backed up on returning some messages: sorry. The deadline for the program has
thankfully been pushed to Friday and I hope to be able to return to the land of the living by then. Because I’m behind the
computer, email is the best way to get in touch with me as I’ll be able to answer questions when I get a break. Hope everyone
is doing well!

Video Finished!

I’ve finished the DVD. I will take it to Atlanta for duplication Monday. It looks pretty good.
There are a couple of problems I can do nothing about. There’s a skip in a bad spot during Yeah!
Sorry about that. Also, the camera was set to autofocus, so sometimes it looks like it was
shot underwater. I can’t wait for everyone to see it! I hope you’ll be pleased.*
In other news, www.coffeeshopofhorrors.com’s
online store is now live. Be brave and place the first order!
* Special thanks to Matt for comic relief.

Slideshow

If you have a Mac (of course you should), you may view a little screensaver of drawings
my Dance Majors and Minors made during the six weeks. Just open System Preferences–>Desktop&Screensaver and
click on .Mac. Click on options and type boomw in the .Mac membership box. Enjoy!

GHP’s Over!

I’m just about done packing. It is very strange here without the kids. I’ve
added an area for my GHP’ers in the forum.
I have been able to get some of the DVD work done. I’m still adding video from the
summer. I will post something as soon as I’m done. In the meantime, I hope everyone had a safe trip home
and is enjoying their own beds and real food!! The RA’ are having a little wing ding at GA, so I’m off.
Good thing I don’t have to teach in the morning!

BABY!

Tam is pregnant! We’re having a BABY!!!
Tam’s due sometime near Thanksgiving. I’m so excited and scared (earmuffs)
shitless!
In other news, Terpsicorps has a new, awesome, website, that has absolutely nothing to do with me. :-(. Though I’ve never
claimed to be a graphic designer, my ego is a little bruised. Still, it’s a great site, and I hope it does
better for Heather than my efforts.
Coffee Shop of Horror’s site is live. The shopping cart is still off until I can drag Brice to the bank to set up his
merchant account. BTW, Authorize.net answers the phone with hold music, in my case several U2 songs. Looks like Bono’s
‘kissing the corporate ass’ again.
I’ve just read on Drudge that our President has apologized to the King of Jordon for the behavior of our troops
Finally! I also watched “Bowling For Columbine” last night. Michael Moore is heavy handed, brazen, and indecorous;
but, I think he’s right about the idea that we Americans are afraid of one another. I’m even reminded of a conversation
I had with Susan Martin about the “deficit creating question”. It’s the idea in marketing that you create a vacuum for your
product to fill; create a need.
Being a consumate consumer, I have to ask myself if I’m supporting the kind of society that promotes fear and violence.
I guess I am. Heck, I think most of us are and that is really scary.
