So, in addition to working on two separate DVD projects, I’m now working on a shopping cart for SuperNutrient.com. So far, the installation went fine. The customization part is the main focus of this project. There is a defined ‘look’ of the site which I hope to maintain. The current look is here:
SuperNutrient.com
The interesting thing is that the shopping cart is hosted separately by StoresOnline, and looks completely different than the rest of the site. While I’m not completely against such an approach, I think it confuses the brand and could confuse visitors; not to mention hopping around domains which, at least for me, does not inspire a lot of confidence.
So, my approach is going to be to maintain the look of supernutrient.com and customize the shopping cart to match. Of course, there is a learning curve with ZenCart and there are some other issues to address. I’m probably going to have to convince Dr. Brice of the need for his own Secure Socket Layer certificate, so that people won’t be confused when they view the shared certificate that comes with the hosting account.
So, I’ve started the process. I’m sitting in Metro typing away, trying to get this project straight in my mind so I can hunker down and get to work. I also started a thread on hostmysite’s General Forum in the hopes that I can get some real time help.
